Students, Community and Two Major League Baseball Players Will Stand Up To Cancer

The Bethel College men’s basketball team in connection with the college’s science department will hold a Stand Up to Cancer event coinciding with a conference home game in the Wiekamp Athletic Center against Indiana Wesleyan University at 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12.

Church Ceiling Painting by Visual Arts Professor to be Dedicated

Bethel College’s Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Visual Arts Christopher Stackowicz will showcase his new ceiling painting at the Dedication Mass for Queen of Peace Catholic Church, on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 5:30 p.m. The event will coincide with the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, and will be held at Queen of Peace Church located on 4508 Vistula Rd. in Mishawaka, Ind. The mass is open to the public.

Students Go Bald for St. Baldrick's Foundation

Bethel College students and faculty will be shaving their heads to raise money for St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. Bethel Dedicates Sufficient Grounds Cafe and Campus Store

Bethel College administrators will dedicate a $1.1 million facility, recently named Sufficient Grounds Café and Campus Store on Monday, Dec. 3 at 11 a.m. inside the new building. The building is located on LaSalle Ave. across form the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center on Bethel’s main campus. In addition, Mishawaka Mayor Dave Wood will present a proclamation to the college on behalf of the city, commemorating the long history of spirited connections and community amongst the student body.

Bethel Athletes Coordinate Community Blood Drive

Bethel College will host a community blood drive December 6 from 10:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in Goodman Gymnasium.

Bethel Class Coordinates Pilgram Prance and Fun Run

Bethel College will host its second annual 2.5K Fun Run and 5K Pilgrim Prance on Saturday, Nov. 17 starting at 8 a.m. Participants are asked to check-in in front of Goodman Gymnasium 20 minutes before their scheduled race. The 2.5K Fun Run is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m., the men’s 5K at 8:45 a.m., and the women’s 5K at 9:30 a.m.

Professor Contributes to Book Project

Bethel College Associate Professor of Communication Elizabeth McLaughlin, Ph.D., recently collaborated on a book project called “Interfaith Dialogue in Practice: Christian, Muslim, Jew.” The project was recently released by Rockhurst University Press. Contributors include various communication professors across the states along with McLaughlin.

Curator at South Bend Museum of Art Showcases Exhibit at Bethel

Curator of Education and Outreach at South Bend Museum of Art Jessi Lentych Loyd will showcase her artwork entitled, “Lions, Robots & Union Guys,” with an opening reception on Friday, Nov. 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. The event will be held in the Weaver Art Gallery located inside the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center.

Nothing is Impossible at This Year's Christmas Concert

The Bethel College music department will present this year’s Christmas concert, “Nothing is Impossible!” on Friday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. and also on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center – Auditorium.

Jazz and Percussion Ensembles to Present Free Concert

The Bethel College Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo and Percussion Ensemble will present their annual fall Jazz and Percussion Night on Friday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center – Auditorium.
