Tomasino Releases Commentary on the Book of Esther

Associate Professor of Biblical Studies, Tony Tomasino, Ph.D., recently released his fifth book, an exegetical commentary on the book of Esther. The commentary is part of the Evangelical Exegetical Commentary series, a brand new, 44-volume commentary series that incorporates the latest critical biblical scholarship and is written from a distinctly evangelical perspective.

Miracle Month at Bethel College

A few generous friends of the college have set aside $500,000 to be used to match all gifts given in November and December. Each gift will be matched dollar for dollar until the matching fund is exhausted, and we ask for your help in achieving this goal.

Christian Group "The Brilliance" Visits Bethel

The Brilliance, an up and coming Christian music group led by John Arndt and David Gungor, brother of Gungor’s Michael Gungor, will visit Bethel’s campus on Dec. 10. The group will conduct a question and answer session at 4:30 p.m. in the Sufficient Grounds Café prior to performing at Subkirke in South Bend, Ind., at 8 p.m. that evening.

Bethel College Plans Inauguration of President Gregg A. Chenoweth, Ph.D.

Bethel College will inaugurate Gregg A. Chenoweth, Ph.D., as its seventh president on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 2:30 p.m. in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center – Auditorium. John Fuller, vice president of Focus on the Family’s audio and new media division, will speak at a pre-inauguration worship service as well as during the inauguration ceremony. Both events are free and open to the public.

Former Music Professor Myron Tweed Dies at 83

Myron Tweed, D.M.A., former professor and director of fine arts at Bethel in the 1960s, passed away last month.

Bethel Dedicates Buildings in Honor of Current Professors and Former President

Bridges Hall will be named in honor of former president Norman V. Bridges, Ph.D., and his wife, Janice. A portion of the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center will be dedicated as the Ham Wing of Music Education and Performance in honor of current professors Robert N. and Marilynn Ham.

Bethel Announces Mike Nicholas as Director of Human Resources

Mike Nicholas is the new director of human resources at Bethel. He most recently served in the same position at Wiers International Trucks in Plymouth, Ind., and began his role at Bethel on Oct. 1.

Bethel College Hosts Event to Honor Dar and Dot Wiekamp

Sponsorships of the event will establish an endowed scholarship in honor of the Wiekamps and their service to the community.

Clarence Gilyard, film and television actor known for his roles on “Matlock,” “Walker, Texas Ranger,” “Die Hard” and “Top Gun,” will guest direct "The Diary of Anne Frank" at Bethel.
