Bethel Announces Mike Nicholas as Director of Human Resources

Bethel College announces the hiring of Mike Nicholas as director of human resources. He most recently served in the same position at Wiers International Trucks in Plymouth, Ind., and began his role at Bethel on Oct. 1.

Nicholas’ experience in human resource management extends nearly 20 years, working as employment and operations manager at 1st Source Bank, vice president of human resources at United Federal Credit Union and vice president of operations for Reach360. He has extensive classroom experience, having taught courses in human resource management and supervision at Bethel College, Indiana University South Bend, Indiana Wesleyan University and DeVry University.

“We are extremely blessed to have someone of Mike’s caliber on board at Bethel,” says Clair Knapp, vice president and CFO. “His wealth of experience in human resource management will make him a great addition to our administrative team. He exemplifies what the Bethel mission is all about and will play a key role in the direction of the institution.”

Nicholas, who lives in South Bend, Ind., with his wife and three daughters, is a past-president of the Michiana Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management and has served on the executive council of the Credit Union National Association. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Great Lakes Christian College and a master’s degree in human resource management from the Keller Graduate School of Management. He also holds certification as a senior professional in human resources (SPHR) and a certified professional behavioral analyst (CPBA).
