The third annual McDonald's® Michiana High School All-Star Basketball Games will be held Monday, March 31, at Bethel College in Mishawaka, Ind. McDonald's Restaurants of Northern Indiana and Bethel College Athletics are teaming up again this year to bring this family event showcasing local high school talent in the northern Indiana and southwest Michigan area.
Both games will be played in the Wiekamp Athletic Center on the campus of Bethel College. The girls game will begin at 5 p.m. and the boys game will begin at 7:15 p.m. Tickets for the Games are $5 for adults and $2 for students. Children 12 and under are free.
Sunday, March 30, both the girls and boys teams will tour the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Memorial Children's Hospital as well as visit the children in the pediatric intensive care unit.
"This is a great opportunity for the Michiana community to see some of the best high school basketball players in our area," said Dave Sparks, chair of the event. "It's also an opportunity for these high school athletes to be a part of Ronald McDonald House Charities and the organization's efforts to provide a special place with a home-like atmosphere for the parents and families of critically ill or injured children from our area communities.
"The past two events were a tremendous success," said Mike Lightfoot, head coach of the Bethel men's basketball team. "It's a wonderful way to showcase the terrific high school talent we have in the Michiana area, and it also provides these students with an opportunity to give back to our community."
