Bethel College - A Christian Liberal Arts College

Human Resources - Employment Opportunities

Faculty

The Bethel faculty is composed over 100 members. Faculty appointments are made to one of five schools of the college: Arts & Sciences, Business & Social Sciences, Education, Nursing, and Religion & Philosophy. Full time faculty positions consist of twenty-four hours of teaching per academic year plus non-teaching assignments (committee work, advising, etc.).

Bethel has a traditional seven-year tenure system; some credit can be given for years of service at other institutions. Tenure and promotions are based on the four responsibilities defined for faculty: teaching, scholarship, institutional service, and spiritual modeling and nurturing.

Faculty members are hired from a variety of Christian denominations; all are expected to be active in a local church and to demonstrate the relevance of faith commitments to their disciplines.
