Bethel College Theatre Departments seeks learned professional dedicated to design scenery for multiple main stage productions; serve as the theater department’s technical director; and teach courses in design, technical theatre, and other area(s) of appropriate expertise in the major. Incumbent may also have the opportunity to design lighting.
Bethel’ College is evangelical Christian student-focused liberal arts learning community located in Northern Indiana. The traditional student body of 1400 includes 23 theater majors, 14 theatre minors and an annual average of 115 students involved in theater production. The Bethel College theatre department personnel includes two full time faculty, a production manager/designer, office/box office manager, costume shop supervisor/designer, facility manager/technical director/lighting designer, and several adjunct instructors, designers and directors. The department produces three main stage shows (two plays and a musical), and a studio classic each academic year. Extra employment is available via the summer dessert theater production.
Qualifications:
- PhD or MFA
- The ideal candidate will have experience in scenic and lighting design plus technical direction for both musicals and plays.
- College or University teaching experience is a major plus.
