Nursing Recruiting Coordinator

Description
Bethel College, an evangelical Christian 4-year institution, has an opening for a fulltime exempt Nursing Recruitment Coordinator. Reporting to the Dean of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Dean of Nursing (ADON), the incumbent coordinates the admissions process for nursing students and the recruiting efforts with nursing admission counselors and traditional, adult and graduate admission offices.
This position is also assigned to coordinating the recruiting and enrollment process for the campuses at Lakeland Hospital and Grace College. Responsibilities include calculating transcripts, entering test scores, and processing all necessary academic documents for admissions as well as processing applications for graduation. This position is also responsible for maintaining data pertaining to Enrollment policy, and to ensure the admissions process is followed for all students.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Meets monthly with the DON/ADON, CGC, and other program coordinators to ensure adequate coordination and evaluation of the recruitment, advising and admission processes.
- Communicates with prospective nursing students and follows-up appropriately.
- Compiles and maintains a database of both current and prospective nursing students.
- Maintains active and inactive prospective student files and submits active files to the Admissions/ Progressions Committee when they are ready for action.
- Attends Nursing Admission-Progression Committee meetings as well as selected nursing faculty functions.
- Prepares and validates prospective student program plans on an individual basis and assists in registering students of their first semester of classes.
- Assesses transcripts for courses that are transferable.
- Attends, creatively plans, and participates in recruitment.
- Coordinates with Nursing 2000 staff for events.
- Consults with the registrar, DON/ADON and CGC when necessary.
- Monitors and updates the School of Nursing web site under the direction of nursing administration.
- Refers complex questions and applicant problems to the DON/ADON and Nursing Admission/Progression Committee Coordinator.
Outside Contacts
The position requires working with human resource personnel at various hospitals, and other entities for the purpose of setting up and coordinating recruiting activities.
Physical Requirements
The position involves: working on the computer for extended periods of time; setting, talking, and listening up to 75% of the time; standing, walking, carrying, pulling or pushing up to 25 % of the time; occasional lifting of files, cases and display items up to 20 pounds; seeing 100% of the time; and close, clear vision at 20 inches or less.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing with current license required. Must possess strong administrative skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office and database applications. Similar or related experience within a higher education environment is preferred. Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills required.
