Business Card Visual Standards
Colors and Fonts
- The Front of the Bethel business card is two-color
- Gold (PMS 132) in the starburst of the word mark, the web address, and the vertical line to the right of the address
- Blue (PMS 293) in the word mark and the rest of the text
- The font is regular, bold and italicized versions of Trade Gothic.
The Word Mark
- The word marked that appears on business cards is the two-color stacked version without the tagline.
- It is positioned on the top left corner of the card
- No contact information should extend into the vertical or horizontal space of the word mark.
- A total of six lines of contact/title information are available, not including the name. For example, if there are three lines of contact information then there may be no more than three titles; if there are four lines of contact information then there may be no more than two titles, etc.
- Any name, title, or contact information that violates this rule will need to be reduced and/or adjusted accordingly.
The Adress
- The street address is right justified, aligning against the gold line.
- The web address is italicized and is right justified, aligning against the gold line.
- Unless otherwise indicated, the default address used will be the main Mishawaka address. (Employees based at the Elkhart campus must specify if they need the Elkhart address.)
Name and Title
- Titles are printed in italics.
- If the office, school, or department needs to be noted, it will be printedabove the title in bold (no italics).
- As noted in “Word Mark” #3a, a total of six lines are available for titles and contact information.
- The spacing between the last title and the first phone number will remain constant (approximately .25 inches.) If more than one title is needed, the name will move up accordingly.
Contact Information
- Phone, Fax, and Cell numbers are noted by “P.”, “F.” and “C.” respectively.
- If more than one phone number is listed (an 800 number and a local number, for example), the “P.” notation is printed once, in front of the first phone number.
- If an 800 number is listed and the employee has a specific extension, the extension will not be printed.
- The digits of the phone number are separated by a period, not a dash.
- The “B” and the “C” in the email domain are capitalized.
- If the email is in the new format, the first initials of the first and last name are capitalized – John.Doe@BethelCollege.edu. If the email is in the old format, all letters in the username will be in small caps – doej@BethelCollege.edu.
- Only official Bethel email addresses will be printed on business cards.
- As noted in “Word Mark” #3a, a total of six lines are available for titles and contact information.
