Abiding by the regulations set forth will ensure the best possible use of our parking facilities for visitors, students and faculty alike. Attention:
Please note that the coded map indicates separate parking areas for resident students only. Resident students are issued special permits on an annual basis that allow them to park in lots near their dormitories.
Commuter students, as well as nonfreshmen and resident students, faculty, staff and visitors may park in the general lots.
Regulations pertaining to your vehicle
- All motor vehicles parked on campus by students, faculty and staff must be registered with Campus Safety and must be insured. A current parking permit must be permanently affixed to the front window—lower left corner—ONLY! Owners of cars not properly registered will be subject to a $25.00 fine. Motor vehicles may be registered at the Campus Safety Office 24 hours a day for your convenience.
- Permission to keep a motorcycle on campus must be obtained from Campus Safety. Under no circumstances will motorcycles or scooters be allowed in the residence halls or any other buildings.
- An individual's motor vehicle permit may be revoked or limited at the discretion of the college because of vehicle violations.
- Specific parking spaces are designated for student, visitor and faculty/staff parking. Specific areas of the campus are reserved for resident students. Under no circumstances are individuals to drive or park on the grass, sidewalks or other unauthorized places. Motorcycles/scooter drivers are to abide by the same parking regulations as drivers of automobiles, pickup trucks or other motor vehicles. Observe handicap spots, loading, fire zone and 15-minute parking areas.
- There is commuter parking by the Wiekamp Athletic Center, Goodman Gymnasium and the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center.
- Campus speed limit is 10 mph.
- Motor vehicle regulations are in effect 24 hours a day, seven days a week and applies to all members of the campus community.
- Levels of reguations:
- First offense—warning
- Second offense—$10.00
- Third offense—$25.00
- Fourth offense—car may be towed at its owner's expense.
- Failure to register vehicle or display permit—$25.00
- The fine for any violation will be reduced 50% if paid within seven calendar days of the date the ticket was issued. Failure to pay a fine within three weeks of the ticketing will result in the fine being doubled and applied to the student's bill in the Business Office.
- Should an individual feel that he/she has received a ticket unjustly, an appeal may be made to the associate dean of students. Appeal forms are available in the Student Development Office and must be submitted within one week of the ticketing.
- The college accepts no responsibility for damage, destruction or theft of motor vehicles. Students are urged to make individual insurance arrangements. Cases of theft, vandalism or assault should be reported to the Campus Safety Office immediately at 8-292-8100.
- Towing of sleds on campus drives and parking lots is forbidden.
- Based on student needs, certain staff and visitor parking areas are opened up for student use at designated times. It is the student's responsibility to contact Campus Safety for this information.
- Refer to the coded parking map for additional parking information and regulations.
- Campus Safety is on duty 24 hours a day. Safety officers are available to walk students to cars after dark and may be reached by dialing #7-3500 from any campus phone.
