Career and Intern Services

Summary of Services

Career Counseling and Guidance

In addition to one-on-one career counseling and assistance, the CISC offers a free assessment called Career Direct. It is biblically-based and can help you discover the major/career that is best for you. After taking the assessment you will meet with Linda Elek, the CISC Career Counselor. Linda will walk you through the results, counsel you on the best career options available, and will provide you with additional resources to assist you on your career path.

Job Search Assistance

Whether you are conducting a job search for the first time or you are preparing to make a complete career transition, the process can be intimidating. The CISC is here to equip you and give you the tools necessary to achieve success in your search. We offer assistance with résumés, cover letters, interviewing, and other aspects of the job search. If you would like Sherry Weldy, the CISC Career Specialist, to look over a completed draft of your resume and/or cover letter, please send them to her in an e-mail. Please note that depending on how many resumes and cover letters are in line in front of you, it could take up to two weeks before she can contact you for an appointment time. If you have any questions give us a call at 574.807.7069.

Internships

An internship may not be an academic requirement for your major, but you should seriously consider doing one during your junior or senior year. You will gain valuable on-the-job experience that will benefit you in a variety of ways. If you are interested in learning more about internships you can contact Michelle Yager, CISC Director, at 574.807.7096 or send her an e-mail.
