Baseball's Branock Receives Scholarship From The American Red Cross

Representatives from the American Red Cross Blood Services Indiana-Ohio Region were on hand Tuesday night to make a special presentation to Bethel baseball player Cameron Branock. CEO Sharyn Whitman and Donor Services Representative David Horine along with John Pinter, CEO of the Red Cross St. Joseph County Chapter awarded Branock with a $2,000 scholarship as a part of his efforts on behalf of the ARC/NAIA Youth Leadership Program.

The American Red Cross, thanks to a generous grant from State Farm Insurance, has entered into a partnership program with the NAIA to inspire and motivate a new and diverse generation of Red Cross volunteers and leaders who will support and continue the mission of the Red Cross to save lives by assuring a safe and adequate blood supply for the hospitals and patients served in their communities.

Cameron was nominated and selected to participate in this once in a lifetime opportunity because of his strong leadership skills and his commitment to the NAIA’s core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship.

This summer, Branock was part of the NAIA/American Red Cross youth leadership program in Washington D.C. Cameron learned about the American Red Cross and all that it stands for. Cameron also had the unbelievable opportunity to network himself with many important CEO's and presidents of many large companies throughout the United States.

Cameron was awarded the scholarship during a special presentation at half time of the men’s basketball game versus Holy Cross College.
