Game Summary

The NAIA No. 3 Bethel College men’s basketball team went on the road Tuesday night and picked up a key MCC victory over Taylor University. With the win, the Pilots improve to 26-3 overall and a league leading 12-3 in the MCC.

The Pilots trailed by six points at the break but outscored the Trojans by 14 points in the second half to claim the 63-55 victory.

Bethel shot 47% for the game from the field and used stellar defense to hold the Trojans to just 39% shooting. The final margin of victory could have been greater as the Pilots shot nearly twice as many free throws as Taylor (30 to 16), but only hit on 67%.

Three players scored in double figures for the Pilots, led by William Walker’s 22 point 8 rebound effort. Ryne Lightfoot followed up last week’s big performance with a 16 point effort while Tyler Brown chipped in 12 points of his own.

The Pilots return to action this Saturday as they return home for Senior Day and a 3:00 pm tip versus the University of Saint Francis.
