Men's Basketball Announces Additional Post Season Awards
The Bethel College men’s basketball team recently completed a historic season in which several players were honored with post season awards. Several of those awards were recently announced in addition to those previously released.
In addition to having his jersey retired by the men’s basketball program and being named NAIA Player of the Year, William Walker added NCCAA National Player of the Year and NCCAA All-American to his resume.
The NCCAA also announced that Ryne Lightfoot was named NCCAA 2nd team All-American. Lightfoot, along with Mark Lettinga and Kory Lantz were also named Academic All-Americans by the NCCAA.
Head Coach Mike Lightfoot and his coaching staff also announced several team awards for the 2008-09 season.
Taking home Most Improved honors was sophomore Joey Welch while Derek Moser took home the Mental Attitude Award. Kory Lantz was the winner of the Martin Moneyheffer award and William Walker was given the Gates Automotive Group MVP award.
