Men's Basketball Signs Michael Mislan

Roncalli High School senior Michael Mislan signed a National Letter of Intent today to continue his academic and athletic careers at Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Mislan, a very efficient scorer averaged seven points per game on only five shots and had five double-figure scoring games including four of the season’s final six games. Michael swatted away a career-high nine blocks at Lafayette Central Catholic while blocking the game-tying put-back attempt in the final seconds of the upset win over then No. 5 ranked Cathedral High School.
Mislan has led Roncalli in block shots, rebounding, and field goal percentage all three years and was named honorable mention All-Marion County last season.
Michael also played AAU basketball for the Fieldhouse Elite Orange in 2010. Mislan averaged 13 points per game while shooting 55% from the field. He averaged 12 rebounds and 2 block shots for the Fieldhouse Elite Orange team that won the Silver bracket of the Chicago Shoot Out and finished runner up in the Main Event basketball tournament Silver bracket championship in Las Vegas this past summer.
“We are excited to have Michael as a part of our Bethel Basketball family,” said head coach Mike Lightfoot. “Michael will continue to have his best years of basketball ahead of him. We feel he will be a key part in our 2010 class which we feel will be an outstanding group. Michael is a great fit for our program. We like our big men to be able to run the floor and he will only continue to get better in the years ahead.”
Mislan is the son of Elizabeth and Michael and has two sisters and a brother. His sister, Kimberly played volleyball at East Tennessee State and his brother Christopher is currently a junior team captain for the Trine University men’s basketball team.
Lightfoot added, “I also like the fact that he has both a brother and a sister who have played collegiately and he understands what disciplines he needs to have at the next level to be successful.”
