Bethel College Pilots: 5
NCCAA Championship

Game Summary

The 2008 NCCAA National Championships were hosted by Cedarville University in Ohio. After months of hard work nineteen schools convened to face—off and vie for the top 15 All—American individual slots and the four All—American Team slots. A cold misty rain challenged the athletes focus and resolve, and the Pilots demonstrated strength!

The BC Men were unified as they rallied together for their last race with their great senior leaders. Harrison Fausey led the way and Seniors Ryan Starkel and Calon Naragon ran very well and were very influential in the team’s strong finishes over the last two weeks! Vincent Reel completed a good season amidst the illness he combated and Austin O’Connor brought in a solid 4th for the Pilots. The men finished the season strong with a 5th place finish, the best ever in Bethel Men’s Cross—Country history at the NCCAA Championship!

We want to extend a special thank you to all of the seniors for their great contributions to the tradition of Bethel College Cross—Country: Mozy Thiel, Mercy Karanja, Carrie Lucas, Vincent Reel, Ryan Starkel and Calon Naragon!

Next week the Pilots look forward to the races of Amber Wray and Irene Kangai—Kirathi at the NAIA National Championship!
