Bethel College Pilots: 8
Bethel College Invitational

Game Summary

The Bethel College men‘s golf team continued a season of inconsistent play and struggled to an 8th place finish at the Pilot Invitational. The Pilots were led by the fine play of sophomore Greggy Lebold, who fired 76—72—148 to finish in the top 10 individually. Bethel‘s 2nd day score of 308 was an improvement from day one‘s 314, but their total of 622 left them in the middle of the tournament field of 15 teams.

“We are a very young team with a tremendous amount of talent but we will continue to struggle until we learn how to finish a round,“ said Bethel coach Chris Hess. “It seems like every time out we have something going and then stumble down the stretch. The nice thing for us is that we‘ve got a great group of guys that will continue to work hard to improve each day. Greggy did a great job for us this week and I know his teammates will bounce back and battle as we prepare for NCCAA Nationals in a few weeks,“ added Hess.

The Pilots head—to—head record now stands at 33—14. They will next compete at the Ken Venturi Invitational before heading to Panama City, FL for the NCCAA National Tournament.
