Men's Golf Signs Concord’s Greg Lebold
The Bethel
College men’s golf
team is proud to announce the signing of Greg Lebold. Lebold, a 2008
graduate of Concord High School will continue the fine line of recent Concord golfers (Brant Fowler, Eric Lebold, Gavin Wilkinson, Matt Dutton
and Jon Bonfiglio) who have helped bring the Bethel men’s program into national
championship contention the past few seasons.
Greg is a four year letter winner in golf and was a member of the NLC champion and state finalist team of 2007. He is also the defending 2-time St. Joe Jr. County Champion and was a 2 year award winner in basketball and football at Concord.
“We are thrilled to have Greg join the Pilots and
trust that he will continue to carry on the strong tradition of Concord players that have
made a big impact on our program,” said Bethel Coach Chris Hess. “We
often focus on the impact a school can have on a student, but in the same
account Greg is going to be a great young man for our program and our campus
community. He has been involved with three sports in high school and I believe
that as he begins to focus on golf, he will see a major increase in his level
of play. As he works hard, matures and gains confidence, Greg has the
potential of being a truly great player and I expect him to be a part of taking
our team to an even higher level of achievement,” added Coach Hess.
“Bethel is a great school academically and spiritually," said Lebold. "One of my deciding factors to attend Bethel was the bond that the guys already there had – it’s something truly special. Not many places can you walk into a situation where you can play a collegiate sport with your brother. Jon Bonfiglio is like a brother to me and has always been there through all my successes and failures in life and athletics. Playing only one sport in college will definitely be an adjustment for me. It will be weird not getting to go to basketball and football practices everyday, but at the same time I’ll be able to put all the focus on my golf game and hopefully take my game to new levels and achieve great things with my teammates at Bethel,” said Greg.
