Men's Golf Adds Michael Stutz

Coach Chris Hess and the Bethel College men’s golf program are proud to announce the addition of Elkhart Memorial’s Michael Stutz, beginning this fall season.

Stutz is a four-time letter winner and three-time team MVP for the Crimson Chargers. As a senior, he had a 9 hole average of 38.6, finished third in the conference tournament and earned a spot on the All-NIC team. Michael was also involved in student government, pep club and was involved in Interact, a group that focuses on service projects in the local community and abroad.

“I chose bethel is because I've always loved golf and getting the opportunity to play in college is something I can't wait to be a part of,” said Stutz. “I also love how everyone at Bethel truly seems to be a tight knit family. I loved how welcome I felt and I truly felt like I was at home. I also am looking forward to making a lot of friends and meeting people that I can stay close with for the rest of my life. I think we will have a great team and I'm looking forward to getting better and becoming part of a truly special program.”

“I am very excited to have Michael join our program,” said Coach Hess.  “He is an excellent addition to our team as a player but even more so as a young man. His personality is a great fit for our campus and Bethel family and he will bring a lot to the table outside of golf.  As for golf, I really feel like Michael can step in and be a big part of our continued success as we strive to build a championship program. We have a great young group of talented players who are all just at the beginning of their individual and team potential. With some experience and growth in confidence, we will achieve great things as a golf team.”

Michael is the latest of a long line of Elkhart golfers that have enjoyed great success at Bethel including; Brant Fowler, Eric Lebold, Matt Dutton, Jon Bonfiglio, Gavin Wilkinson and Justin McCuddy, as well as current players Greg Lebold and Jon Enfield.
