Men's Soccer Knocks Off No. 14 Hannibal-LaGrange
Game Summary
The Bethel College men’s soccer team continued their hot start to the 2009 season with a 2-0 upset win over NAIA No. 14 ranked Hannibal-LaGrange College on Saturday afternoon to conclude play at the Indiana Wesleyan Tournament in Marion, IN.
Both teams played to a scoreless first half with the Pilots holding a 9-6 shot advantage. The Pilots continued to out shoot Hannibal-LaGrange in the second half when Romulo Nobrega found the back of the net off the assist from Arron Patrick at the 55 minute mark the first goal of the contest. The Pilots struck again at the 76 minute mark when Joao Couto knocked in a goal off Patrick’s second assist of the day.
The Pilots are now 4-0-1 on the season and will be back in action next Friday and Saturday when they host the Waterford Estates Fall Classic at Morey Field.
