Game Summary

The Bethel College men’s and women’s tennis teams hosted the St. Francis (IL) Saints on Friday afternoon on the Bethel College courts in a non—conference match. The men fell by the score of 9—0, dropping their season record to 1—6. Meanwhile, the Lady Pilots posted a 6—3 victory over the Saints, improving their season mark to 5—3.

The men’s match began with singles play where the visiting Saints used an over—powering performance in sweeping all six matches. The doubles competition was much closer, but once again St. Francis earned wins at all three spots to end the day’s play.

“Our men ran into an extremely powerful team from St. Francis this afternoon,” stated Bethel Coach John Natali. “We played hard, and we were very close to winning in all three doubles matches. However, we were unable to close out in any of them in the end. Playing this type of competition can only make us better and stronger in the long run.”

The Bethel men and women will be right back in action on Saturday, September 26th when they will host Indiana Wesleyan University at 11:00am at Baker Park in Mishawaka.
