Men's And Women's Track Win MCC Championship, Natali Coach Of The Year

Game Summary
The Bethel College men’s and women’s track teams were both crowned MCC champions on Saturday afternoon at the conference meet held at Taylor University. The Pilot men’s team scored 166 points to edge Taylor by 4 points while the women’s competition came down to the final event where the Lady Pilots won the 4x400m relay race to push their score to 227 points nosing out Indiana Wesleyan by 5 points for the championship.
In the men’s events, Bethel conference champions included Jordan Heim in the 400m run with a time of 48.07, Robby Burns in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.05, William Walker in the high jump clearing 2.01m, Kyle Klein in the pole vault clearing 4.40m, and JJ Jackson in the shot put with a toss of 15.32m. Conference runners—up were Jeff Hardman in the javelin with throw of 53.64m, Alex Walsh in the triple jump with a mark of 13.5m, JW Maierle in the long jump with a mark of 7.49m, and the Bethel 4x100m relay team of Calen Boyd, BJ Austin, Mikal Ryals, and Trent Chupp with a time of 42.12. Named All—Conference for the Pilots were Heim, Burns, Walker, Klein, Jackson, and Hardman while head coach, Tony Natali was voted MCC Men’s Coach of the Year.
In the women’s competition, Lady Pilot conference champions included Ann O’Keefe in the pole vault clearing 3.58m, Kati Beutler in the long jump with a mark of 5.51m, Nichole Arnold in the discus with a throw of 40.85m, and the Lady Pilot 4x400m relay team of Beenne Capre, Jessie Spearman, Kaila Stevens, and Heather Rathbun with a time of 3:57.24. Conference runners—up were Capre in the 200m dash with a time of 25.66, Stevens in the 400m run with a time of 58.67, Arnold in the shot put with a toss of 12.8 m, Amanda Westcott in the triple jump with a mark of 11.02m, the Bethel 4x100m relay team of Amy Hausner, Samantha Etter, Calyn Zahl, and Beutler with a time of 50.81, and the Lady Pilot 4x800m relay team of Shelby Morrow, Haleigh Sanders, Katie Heisey, and Irene Kangai with a time of 9:36.42. Named All—Conference for the Lady Pilots were O’Keefe, Arnold, and Beutler while head coach, Tony Natali was voted MCC Women’s Coach of the Year as well.
The Bethel track teams will be back in action at the NCCAA Outdoor Nationals May 1—2 at Indiana Wesleyan University.
