On the third and final day of competition at the NAIA Outdoor National Track and Field Championships in St. Louis, Missouri, Bethel sprinterJordan Heim earned All—American honors by finishing fourth in the nation in the 400m dash with a school record time of 47.57. This marked the third consecutive day in which Heim broke the Bethel College school record in the event.

In other action on Saturday, Bethel’s Nichole Arnold placed 18th in the country in the women’s shot put with a mark of 41’10.5”. On Friday, Arnold competed in the discus and a reporting error had her finishing in fifth place. On Saturday, the error was corrected, meaning Arnold actually finished fourth in the nation with a mark of 148’0” and earned All—American honors for her effort.

At the conclusion of the NAIA Outdoor National Championships, the Bethel Pilots had broken six school records in three days, and had three athletes earn All—American honors: J.W. Maierle in the men’s long jump, Nichole Arnold in the women’s discus, and Jordan Heim in the men’s 400m dash.
