Track Produces Pair Of NAIA All-Americans And Two More School Records

On the second day of competition at the NAIA Outdoor National Track and Field Championships in St. Louis, Missouri, two Bethel College Pilots earned All-American honors in their field events.

Pilot long jumper, J.W. Maierle placed third in the nation with a mark of 23’11.5” earning him All-American honors, and Nichole Arnold finished fifth in the country in the women’s discus with a mark of 148’0”, also capturing All-American distinction.

In the men’s 400m semifinals, Bethel’s Jordan Heim advanced into Saturday’s finals by finishing with a time of 47.60, breaking the Bethel College school record for the second day in a row. Meanwhile, the Lady Pilot 4x400m relay team of Beenne Capre, Irene Kangai, Jessie Spearman, and Kaila Stevens finished 10th in the nation with a school record time of 3:50.80.

Elsewhere, Bethel’s Amanda Westcott placed 11th in the country in the women’s triple jump with a mark of 36’9.75”, William Walker finished 15th in the nation in the high jump for the Pilots clearing 6’5”, the Bethel men’s 4x400m relay team of Robby Burns, Nate Phillips, Jordan Heim, and Jontae Randolph placed 18th in the country with a time of 3:17.83, and JJ Jackson finished 20th in the nation in the men’s shot put with a toss of 49’7.25”.
