Alyssa Toupin, a 5’9” wing from Lakewood Park Christian High School, has committed to continue her basketball and academic careers for the 2009-2010 season at Bethel College (NAIA) in Mishawaka, IN. This past season, Bethel College finished in the ‘Sweet 16’ at the NAIA Division II National Tournament losing to eventual national champion, Morningside College. Bethel College went back to back in winning the Mid-Central Conference with a record of 13-3 and an overall record of 23-9.

She was a 2-time KPC News All-Area Selection and was a 2-time Midland Athletic Conference All-Conference Team Member and a 2-time All-Tournament Team Member. Alyssa has a 4.0 GPA and her academic interest in college will be Pre-Med. She is a member of the National Honor Society and competes in horseback riding. “Alyssa is a quality student-athlete that will be a great addition to next year’s team,” states Bethel College head coach, Jody Martinez. “She can play different positions for us. She has excellent rebounding instincts and good lateral movement. She runs the floor well and has a great attitude on life. We are blessed to have Alyssa join the Lady Pilots family at Bethel College for the 2009 season.”

“I am amazed at how God provides,” states Alyssa Toupin. “I was not considering Bethel College as one of my final choices; but, through a series of events, I ended up visiting Bethel a second time. Upon my second visit, I felt such Christian warmth that I was drawn to the place. After meeting the basketball coaches and players, I knew that this was where God was leading me. I’m excited about my future at Bethel. I know I will be challenged spiritually, academically, and as well as athletically. I look forward to what God has already planned for me.”
