Continuing a trend of "reloading" for the new season, the Lady Pilots are very excited about another new weapon to unleash in Jordan Robbins. Jordan, a sharpshooting 5-6 guard from Leo high School in Fort Wayne, IN should add even more punch to an already versatile and deep group of newcomers for Coach Martinez.
As a senior at Leo, Jordan averaged 13.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.7 assists a game for Coach Carrie Shappell. The "Lady Lions" of Leo had a record of 17-6 this season. Led by Jordan, Leo won their Sectional and were the Allen County Conference Champions. Jordan shot 41.0% from the floor; 41.4% from the three-point line and 88.5% from the free-throw line. Jordan led her team in scoring and steals during her last three seasons and played in the Nancy Rehm All-Star Game vs. the Ohio and was the leading scorer for the Indiana team, scoring 23 points.
"It was fun watching Jordan play in high school and now I get the joy of watching her play for Bethel College," said Coach Jody Martinez. "She has a great attitude and is learning to play four different positions. She has a perimeter shot and is scrappy on defense. She also can run point or small forward. She is a very versatile player. Jordan will have a great chance to play a big role for us right away," added Martinez.
"Although I already know enough to say that my teammates are pretty swell, I can't wait to get to know all the girls better over the next 6 billion or so months :) As for those higher up on the food chain - AKA those who make us the best conditioned team in the nation - the coaching staff is one whose devotion to us extends above and beyond basketball and for whom I am truly privileged to play," said Jordan.
