Game Summary
The Bethel Lady Pilots attended the 36th Annual Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational hosted by Loyola University of Chicago.
With thirty-six teams (several Division I and top NAIA ranked teams) packing the course, strategy and aggression were important. The start was tight as the large field condensed onto the path. Bethel women worked together and Amber Wray led them to an eighteenth place finish with her personal time of 19:14 and Irene Kangai followed her in 19:40. Jessica Scott crossed the line in 20:08 while Brianna Atkins and Katie Heisey each brought in a time of 20:28. Additionally, personal records were set by Stefanie Shively, Jessica Scott, Courtney Chapman, Charity Brown, Brianna Atkins, Irene Kangai, Amy Ortmann and Carrie Lucas.
Coach Sommers commented that it was a “decent second race, a tough field and a lot of improvement from our newcomers.”
Next week the Pilots look forward to racing in Adrian, MI!
