Bethel College Pilots: 5
NCCAA Championship

Game Summary

The 2008 NCCAA National Championships were hosted by Cedarville University in Ohio. After months of hard work nineteen schools convened to face—off and vie for the top 15 All—American individual slots and the four All—American Team slots. A cold misty rain challenged the athletes focus and resolve, and the Pilots demonstrated strength!

On the Women’s Side Bethel placed fifth, only six points out of Spring Arbor’s fourth. Solid races were performed by the Lady Pilots! Amber Wray placed 8th with a time of 18:42.31 and Irene Kangai—Kirathi placed 10th with a time of 19:00.32 both becoming All—Americans! Ashley Wray also ran an aggressive race for Bethel’s 3rd position and an overall 32nd placement. Jessica Scott and Katie Heisey brought in 4th and 5th while running a pack with Danielle Lewis. Freshman Brianna Atkins from California has and will be a wonderful contribution to Bethel Cross—Country!

We want to extend a special thank you to all of the seniors for their great contributions to the tradition of Bethel College Cross—Country: Mozy Thiel, Mercy Karanja, Carrie Lucas, Vincent Reel, Ryan Starkel and Calon Naragon!

Next week the Pilots look forward to the races of Amber Wray and Irene Kangai—Kirathi at the NAIA National Championship!
