Women's Golf Takes Top Five Spots To Win USF Cougar Classic

The Bethel College women‘s golf team took the top five spots in route to a first place team finish at the USF Cougar Classic in Kendalville, Ind. on Thursday afternoon.

Kara Ballinger earned her second victory of the spring by shooting 74 on the day. Ballinger was followed closely by Brooke Gilbert who also shot a 74 and Shanna Page who shot 77. Playing as an individual, Melanie Day shot her collegiate best round of 82.

Bethel travels from Kendalville to Midland, Mich. to take part in the Northwood Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

“I‘m very proud of all of our players today,“ said head golf coach Danny Randolph. “Everyone improved today during their second round. It is always nice to have the top five finishers in a tournament. It shows just how much depth we have. I also proud of the way our Seniors led today and I‘m happy that Kara was able to pick up her second win.“
