Strong Start For Women's Golf At NAIA National Championships

The Bethel College women’s golf team got off to an excellent start on day one of the NAIA National Championships in Rapid City, SD by shooting 303.

The Pilots’ 303 puts them just six strokes behind tournament leader California Baptist University and just one stroke behind defending National Champion and No. 1 ranked Oklahoma City University.

Bethel was led by Shanna Page and Katie Powell who both shot 74 which puts them in a tie for fifth place overall.

"I am very proud of the way we played today," said Head Coach Danny Randolph.  "We held things together on the back nine under some tough conditions."

The Pilots will tee off on round two of the four round tournament on Wednesday morning around 9:00 am local time.
