Women's Soccer Falls to Cross Town Foe Saint Mary's
Game Summary
The Bethel College women’s soccer team fell to 3-3 on the season with the 2-1 loss at cross town rival Saint Mary’s College on Friday evening.
The Belles and the Pilots battled to a scoreless tie for much of the first half until Saint Mary’s was able to knock in a rebound off the save from Pilots’ goalkeeper Elyse Powell at the 42 minute mark.
Saint Mary’s took the 1-0 lead well into the second half when the Belles added an insurance goal at the 73 minute mark.
The Pilots tried to put pressure on Saint Mary’s late in the second half as Amber Spencer was able to get the Pilots on the board with a ball shot inside the far post from outside the box, but it was a case of too little too late as the Pilots fell 2-1.
Bethel will take on Olivet College on Saturday afternoon at 12:00 pm as a part of the Saint Mary’s College Invitational in Notre Dame, Ind.
