Spring Arbor Uses Two Second Half Goals to Beat Women's Soccer
Game Summary
The Bethel College women’s soccer team fell to 5-8-1 on the season after the 2-1 loss to Spring Arbor University on Friday night in Mishawaka.
On the final home game of the season, the Pilots took the first half lead when Pua Hall knocked in her team leading fourth goal of the season at the 26:51 mark of the first half. Despite getting out-shot 5-4, the Pilots took the lead into the lock room.
The Cougars, who are receiving votes to be ranked in the NAIA Top 25, came out firing in the second half and managed to tie the game at one goal apiece 15 minutes into the second half. After out-shooting the Pilots 12-1 in the second half, the Cougars managed to get the game winning goal by Pilots goalkeeper Elyse Powell at the 80:20 mark of the second half.
Powell recorded eight saves on the night, but the Bethel offensive was unable to mount a second half attack as they eventually fell by the final count of 2-1.
The Pilots wrap up regular season action on Tuesday with a trip to the University of St. Francis for a 4:00 pm kickoff before MCC tournament play begins on October 31st.
