Softball Signs Danielle Reilly

Danielle Reilly signed a National Letter of Intent today to play softball at Bethel College in Mishawaka, IN. Reilly is a senior utility player from Joliet Catholic Academy (Joliet, IL) and plays travel softball for the Homer Hawks 18u Gold.

“I’m very excited about Danielle’s strengths and what she’ll add to our program,” said Bethel Head Softball Coach Anna Welsh. “She’s athletic, has great character and work ethic and a very good attitude. She’s a true utility player and can be successful at so many positions. I look forward to working with her every day to see how she will truly impact our team.”

When asked what she’s looking forward to the most Danielle said, “I don't think I could choose just one thing that I'm looking forward to. I'm obviously excited about the softball season and hanging out with the girls. I am also anxious to see firsthand what college life is really like. It should be interesting.”

In high school Danielle has been a three year varsity starter for Coach Dave Douglas, seeing time on the mound, in the outfield and infield. She carries a 3.75 GPA and was ranked 68 out of 202 in her class. She also received English Honors at JCA and is a member of the Mu Alpha Theta mathematics honors association. She plans on majoring in Exercise Science at Bethel. She is the daughter of Michael and Suzanne Reilly of Joliet, Illinois.

The Bethel College Pilots are currently 50-6 and are MCC Conference Champions and received an automatic birth to the NAIA National Tournament in Decatur, Alabama.

“I knew Bethel was the right school for me right when I stepped on campus,” Danielle added. “The environment made me feel so comfortable and the girls were all very nice. I'm really excited to play for Coach Welsh.”
