Edison Named NCCAA Student Athlete Of The Week

Bethel College sophomore, Carrie Edison (Plymouth, IN), has been recognized as the NCCAA National Student-Athlete of the Week for women’s tennis. The NCCAA has chosen Carrie for this award based not only on her achievements on the court, but also for her excellent work in the classroom and for her consistent display of good sportsmanship and a Christ-like attitude.

Carrie won in both her singles and doubles matches on April 7th over strong challengers from Indiana Tech. Her singles victory at the number two position was by the score of 6-1, 6-3 and her win at number one doubles was by the score of 8-6. Carrie’s overall record this season in both singles and doubles is now an outstanding 23-7.

“Carrie is a very deserving recipient of this honor,” stated Bethel coach John Natali. “Carrie is a very tough competitor on the tennis court, and she always plays hard in a first class manner. We are pleased that the NCCAA has chosen to recognize her for the athletic success she has attained on the tennis court, her academic success in the classroom, and for the Christian manner in which she lives her life.”
