Another Split for Volleyball on Day Two of UMD Tournament
Game Summary
Day two of the UMD Early Bird Tournament in Dearborn, MI produced a similar result as day one as the Pilots won one and lost won to conclude the tournament on Saturday.
The day started with the Pilots dropping a hard fought five set match with Cedarville University. After losing a close first set, Bethel won the next two sets only to lose the final two sets and the match. Bethel lost by scores of 27—29, 25—17, 25—18, 20—25, and 13—15.
The Pilots got back on track later in the day as they took a four set match from Davenport University. After losing the first set by the score of 21—25, the Pilots bounced back to take the final three sets by identical 26—24 marks.
Emily Henry, Callie Hartman, and Candice Obregon all knocked down 20 kills on the day while Ashley Wagner added 19 kills of her own. Henry also chipped in with 10 blocks while Wagner blocked six. Hartman added 25 digs while Sarah Carroll pitched in 44 digs. Ashley Pagel had 23 digs to go along with her 61 assists.
The Pilots are now 2—2 and will head across town to take on Saint Mary’s College on Tuesday at 7:00 pm.
