No. 24 Taylor University: 3

Game Summary

The Bethel College volleyball team got off to a great start in their effort to upset No. 24 ranked Taylor University on Wednesday night in Upland, Indiana. The Trojans rebounded, however, and took the match by winning three consecutive sets.

The Pilots got off to a roaring start in taking the opening set by the score of 25—14. Hitting at a .385 clip, Bethel knocked down 13 kills to take an early advantage.

Unfortunately the Pilots could not continue their dominance for the entire match and Taylor rebounded quickly to take three consecutive sets by scores of 25—18, 25—20, and 25—14.

Three Pilots finished the match with double digit kills including freshmen Callie Hartman who had 13 kills, 13 digs, and 2 aces. Ashley Wagner and Emily Henry added 10 kills each and Ashley Pagel dished out 35 assists.

The Pilots are now 5—7 (1—2) on the season and return to action this weekend when they travel Joliet, Illinois to compete at the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
