Game Summary

The Bethel College volleyball team when on the road to Joliet, Ill. and won two matches to open play at the University of St. Francis Invitational on Friday.

The Pilots won their first game of the day versus Trinity Christian College by scores of 25—19, 25—21, and 25—19 and then picked up their second victory of the day against Concordia University (Mich.) by scores of 25—19, 22—25, 25—14, and 25—16.

Statistical leaders for the Pilots Include: Ashley Wagner with 29 kills, 22 digs, and 3 aces; Emily Henry with 24 kills and 5 blocks; Callie Hartman with 18 kills and 36 digs; Karissa Rillema with 11 kills and 3 blocks; and Ashley Pagel with 86 assists.

“It was a good first day for us,” said Bethel Head Coach Julia Reininga. “We had a complete team effort today and now we’re ready for two tough opponents on Saturday.”

The Pilots will be back in action on Saturday in Joliet with matches at 10:00 am and 12:00 pm.
