Volleyball Falls at Saint Francis
Game Summary
The Bethel College volleyball team lost a five set thriller at the University of St. Francis on Wednesday evening.
The Pilots and Cougars squared off in an MCC matchup and neither team would go down easily in the first set which saw the two teams score 72 points. Unfortunately, the Pilots came out on the losing end of the 35—37 score.
Bethel quickly bounced back, however and took the next two sets by scores of 25—21 and 25—15 only to see a St. Francis team that wasn’t ready to surrender in this back in fourth match capture the next two sets and the match by scores of 25—27 and 10—15.
Statistical Leaders for Pilots include: Ashley Wagner with 19 kills, 10 digs and 2 aces; Emily Henry with 15 kills; Sarah Carroll with 20 digs; Michelle Werner 11 kills; Candice Obregon with 15 kills and 9 digs; Callie Hartman with 12 kills and 24 digs; and Ashley Pagel with 51 assists.
The loss drops Bethel’s overall record to 15—12 on the season and puts them in a three—way tie for fourth place in the conference standings with a 3—3 mark.
The Pilots head to Whiting, Ind. this weekend to compete in the Calumet College Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
