Volleyball Dominates Player Of The Week Honors
For the second consecutive week Stephanie Harwood and Marcia Poliquin were honored as MCC Players of the Week at their respective positions. The Pilots made it a clean sweep this week as Ashley Pagel picked up the award for MCC Setter of the Week. All three were instrumental in leading the Pilots to a record of 4 – 0 on the week.
Senior Stephanie Harwood was named the MCC Hitter of the Week for the second week in a row. Harwood led the Pilots with 73 kills for an average of 4.87 kills per game. Harwood is currently leading the nation in kills with 424.
In addition to Harwood's honor by the MCC, she was also named the NCCAA Student Athlete of the Week.
Fellow Senior Marcia Poliquin also picked up MCC Libero of the Week honors for the second consecutive week. Poliquin led the Pilots with 77 digs. Poliquin averaged 5.13 digs per game.
Junior Ashley Pagel completed the sweep of MCC volleyball awards as she picked up the award for MCC Setter of the Week. Pagel had 167 assists in four matches for average of 11.13 assists per game. Pagel also added 43 digs on the week.
Harwood, Poliquin, Pagel, and the rest of the Pilots face a huge test at home this Wednesday night at 7:00 pm as they take on perennial MCC power Taylor University.
