Don't let your spring registration plan be put on HOLD!

Check your student account online to be sure your balance is zero.

Accounts with past due balances will be placed on HOLD and will not be allowed to register for the next semester until the account balance has been cleared.

If your bill remains unpaid, and you do not keep in close contact with us about your financial plan, your class enrollment and/or campus services will be in danger of being interrupted or cancelled.

NewDevelop For Your Profession and Volunteer With Others

Rotaract is one of the newest clubs on campus and is looking for students who want to plug in!

Your involvement means you (1) get to interact with fellow students on a weekly basis, (2) get to hear from speakers who can challenge you to grow, (3) get to volunteer in meaningful ways helping the community, and (4) get to attend a monthly luncheon where you can meet and talk with other professionals and learn from their experiences. 

The next Rotaract meeting is December 7, at 7pm in the President’s Dining Room.  We will be planning out next semester and would encourage your input and participation.

NewSummer Cluster Internship Program 2010

"Great opportunity for summer ministry experience!" 

SCIP (Summer Cluster Internship Program) is gearing up to place interested students for the summer of 2010 in wonderful churches for excellent ministry experience and personal growth.  Several sites include Port Huron, Michigan, San Antonio, Texas, and Hawaii. 

Internships in youth and children's ministry and general pastoral work are available.  You can raise support for the summer as well as receive a generous scholarship for the 2010-11 school year. 

This opportunity is open to all students (not just ministry students) with a heart to serve others and grow.  Applications can be picked up in the Religion and Philosophy office (Administration 314).  The application deadline is the end of January.

IAP Managing Editors and HSPA Foundation Journalism Job and Career Fair

The annual Journalism Job and Career Fair of the Indiana Associated Press Managing Editors and the Hoosier State Press Association is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at the Ball State Alumni Center in Muncie, IN.

Editors will conduct 15 minute interviews with journalism students seeking regular employment, internships, or career advice.  Information on the 2010 HSPA Foundation Eugene S. Pulliam Internship Program also will be available at the fair.

Students will be able to schedule interviews AFTER DEC. 10, by emailing Phyllis McQueen at pmcqueen@ap.org. Please state requested newspapers and any special scheduling needs and a confirmation will be returned.  Interviews will be scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis.  However, seniors will be given preference during the first two weeks of scheduling.  When emailing, please state class standing.

NewJazz and Percussion Night this Friday

Everest-Rohrer Auditorium hosts the ever popular Jazz and Percussion Night at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 20.  Featured music includes the percussion work,"Junk Funk" and the exciting jazz/rock piece, "Get in Line." Soloists include Todd McLaughlin, Jacob Robaska and Samantha Hartsough. Admission is FREE.

Christmas Concert Tickets on Sale now

Start the Christmas season out with a memorable evening by attending the Bethel College Christmas Concert, The Whole World Rejoices. 

The concert takes place December 4 & 5 at 7:30 p.m. and December 5 at 2:00 p.m.

The Bethel choral ensembles and chamber orchestra combine to present Christmas music from around the world.  Resounding through the auditorium will be music celebrating global diversity and unity in faith.  iI our differences we will be reminded that there is one body and one Spirit...one Lord, one baptism, one God and Father of us all.

Tickets for this event are just $5.00 and may be purchased before and after chapel, or from 1-5 p.m.Monday through Friday.

New2010 World Partners -- Summer International Internships

2010 World Partners -- Summer International Internships

 

All of the following internships require six days of pre-field orientation at Bethel College May 3-8 (starts at 5:00 PM on the 3rd and ends at 12:00 PM on the 8th). You are also required to spend at least three weeks on the field.  Most of the costs below are based on four or six weeks.

 

Funds can be raised from churches and individuals giving thru World Partners. This includes airfare, insurance, lodging, meals, in-country transportation, and the May “orientation” tuition, meals, lodging, and materials

 

Three hours of “Internship” credit are possible at Summer Term prices. An additional three hours of “Area Study” credit are also possible at Summer Term prices.

 

Bulgaria - Four Weeks   May 13 to June 10, 2010   Total Cost: $2150

Open for nursing students to observe with some hands on experience at the Kazanlak Hospital; interns could teach English to build relationships with people or experience business opportunities in their area of interest.

 

Cyprus -  Six Weeks   May 13 to June 24, 2010   Total Cost: $3400

Interns would choose one demographic group living in downtown Nicosia and do a guided study of their culture, organization as a community in Cyprus and their needs (physical, spiritual, social, etc.). As the interns develop relationships, coaching and training would be given.  At the end they would produce a report which will be used by several organizations in Cyprus including the Fellowship of Christian Refugees.  Open to two males.

  

Guinea (West Africa) Four Weeks    May 13 to June 10, 2010   Total Cost: $4125

Two female interns would work in the village assisting the nursing staff and ministering to villagers as determined by host missionaries.

 

Mongolia - Four Weeks May 13 to June 10, 2010   Total Cost: $3950

A frontier lifestyle awaits interns interested in hospice care working in an existing Christian program.  Also, television management (camera operation, television computer programmer) is an area of need.

 

Spain Four Weeks   July 2 to July 31, 2010   Total Cost: $2825

Interns will work with Spanish children in an English Day Camp on weekday mornings; each camp lasts two weeks.  In the afternoons interns will do outreach ministry in local Spanish churches.  Housing will be in Spanish homes, and some Spanish is helpful but not necessary.
