Meet the Band

Shawn Holtgren is a graduate of Bethel and serves as Dean of Leadership and Spiritual Development and chapel worship leader. Shawn also leads worship at St. Mark Missionary Church. Over the past years, Shawn has had the privilege of leading worship at a variety of conferences, camps, and institutes. Shawn, his wife Katie, daughter Autumn, and son Nathan live in Mishawaka.

Todd Lemons is the Director of Media Production Services and serves as the Chapel Technical Director. He worked professionally in the music industry for several years before joining Bethel in 1993. Todd has worked with various artist, engineering concerts in the U.S., Canada, and Asia. Todd has been active in production design, technical directing, and audio engineering for several regional and national events as well as being a consultant and workshop leader. He hails from Kokomo, Indiana.

Braden Hurst plays bass guitar in the chapel band. He grew up on a farm in New Paris, Indiana and is a senior majoring in Christian Ministries. He serves at his local church in the worship band. One of his dreams is to change the world one life at a time.

Marcia Miller is a senior from North LIberty, IN and sings for the Chapel Band. She is a Music Performance Major and is minoring in Musical Theatre. She also enjoys participating in the Voices of Triumph, Concert Choir, and Music Ministry Teams.

Andrew Schaefer plays acoustic guitar in the Chapel Band. Andrew is from Fort Wayne, Indiana, and is a junior Liberal Studies major with concentrations in Music, Biblical Studies, and Business. Andrew helps lead worship at a variety of churches in the Fort Wayne and Mishawaka areas. He enjoys good conversation and good music.

Jeff Nelson plays the drums in the Chapel Band. Jeff is from South Bend, Indiana, and is a sophomore Chemistry major. After his time at Bethel, Jeff plans to attend medical school. He enjoys spending time with friends and studying God's word.

Austin Schertz, a freshman from Elkhart, Indiana, plays electric guitar for the chapel band. He is double-majoring in youth ministry and philosophy. Austin helps lead worship at various local churches and aims to glorify God with the gifts he has been given.

Phil Dibert, from Goshen, Indiana, sings background vocals for the Chapel Band. He's a senior Environmental Biology major, but has always had music very close to his heart. He has had the privilege of being a part of the Voices of Triumph and Concert Choir. He hopes that God is glorified in his singing and that many hearts will be touched by God's presence.

Todd McLaughlin, a sophomore piano major from Berne, IN, plays piano/keys in the Chapel Band. He can often be found leading worship in area churches and at various retreats in the Midwest. God has given Todd a passion for seeing others connect through worship and genuine love. Todd enjoys friends, movies, and being out in nature.
