Job Description
Wally’s role is to align technology vision with the colleges strategy by integrating processes with the appropriate technologies. The Chief Technology Officer is also responsible for all aspects of developing and implementing technology initiatives within the campus. He maintains existing enterprise systems, while providing direction in all technology-related issues in support of information operations and core campus operations.
About Wally
Wally got his first computer while a Junior in High School and has been in love with computers ever since. He is a 1984 graduate of Bethel College with a degree in Computer Science. He has been a speaker at the National Mortgage Bankers Conference , has been published in trade journals, and serves on the Indiana Higher Education Telecommunications Services state CIO group. He has developed software for fortune 500 companies including Hallmark, Sony Playstation, Pharmacia Upjohn and many others. He has owned his own consulting company and has led the information technology for several multimillion dollar companies before returning to Bethel College to be the Chief Technology Officer. He describes himself as a “computer geek with social skills”.
