- Provide a liaison between the Student Body and the administration and faculty.
- Plan, promote and assist in the supervision of Student Body activities.
- Build a closer relationship and better understanding among the administration and faculty and the Student Body.
- Advance student and college community interests
- Provide a liaison between the alumni association and the Student Council.
Upcoming constitutional vote
Student Council recently succeeded in receiving permission to amend the school's student council constitution by the faculty and administrative committee. These bodies gave their support unanimously. The content being changed includes the following:
- Classes will be represented by and upper and lower class council rather than a council per class.
- Elections and appointments will occur in the beginning of the fall semester rather than the spring with the exception of the Executive Council and Committee Chairs.
- Residential Representatives will be selected from currently serving RAs.
- The number of voting student council members will be reduced.
- Student Council's role in overseeing clubs and organizations will be emphasized.
Despite the fact that these constitutional amendments have passed the faculty and staff, it is still the responsibility of the student body to vote the changes into law. Please read the proposed changes in the constitution and vote in favor of amending on January 20th following chapel in the Everest-Rohrer.
