Alumni Experiences: Art

Zach Nelson

Zachary T. Nelson '17: Creative Director at J2 Marketing

"Bethel College was the best place for me. I spent numerous hours sitting one-on-one with my professor getting art, life, and career advice. It really prepped me to launch right into a career as a Creative Director in South Bend. This is a place where you will find opportunities and connections all over campus."

Lauren Brown

Lauren Brown '12: Digital Account Coordinator at Pathfinders Advertising

"Everyone's goal should be to land a career in a field they are passionate about. Luckily I can raise my hand and say, "That's me!" I was able to do this through my professors' and advisors' connections, counsel, personal recommendations and preparation before graduation. Their support was and continues to be personal and unique."

Stacy Lamb

Stacy Lamb '15: Studio Arts major

"I learned that art was not merely an interest but actually my calling. God entrusted me with artistic ability to be humbly developed and joyfully expressed for His glory. As an Artist at Arts and Carafes Studios, I love being able to teach people how to paint. Most have never picked up a paint brush and by the end of the class they have created something they can be proud of."

Kristen Handtke

Kristen Handtke '15, Visual Arts / Interior Design dual major

"Ever since I was young, it was always my dream to be a designer. I pursued my dream, and today I have the pleasure of creating beautiful spaces for my clients!" Visit her company's site and read more about her work.

Hannah Reinke

Hannah Reinke '16: Advertising Director at J2 Marketing

"As a Bethel alumna, I have found a new appreciation for the classes I took and those that helped me to be the best version of myself.  I am able to use the skills I acquired from my classes in starting my photography business (@hannahmarlene_photography) and I can't wait to see where this journey takes me!"

Jessica Rupp '07, Studio Arts major

"We take the gifting that someone has in the arts and tap into it. It bypasses the mind and goes straight to the heart, using that gifting for His kingdom to bring people to Christ!" Read about Jessica's work with Operation Mobilization Arts International in Bethel Magazine (Fall 2015).
