The MAT program is designed for candidates who are seeking initial teacher certification. The MAT program begins with the Bethel College graduate level Transition to Teaching program (18- 24 credit hours)leading to an Indiana teaching license. (If you have completed a Transition to Teaching program through another accredited college, you are welcome to apply to the MAT program at Bethel.)

Who is the program for?

  • Individuals who have successfully completed the Bethel College Transition to Teaching program

Program structure

  • Elementary Education completers who have completed 24 hours in their Transition to Teaching program.*
    • An additional 12 credit hours will need to be completed for the MAT degree.
  • Secondary Education completers who have completed 18 hours in their Transition to Teaching program.*
    • An additional 18 credit hours will need to be completed for the MAT degree.
