Bethel College Founding Father, Seth A. Rohrer, Leaves a Legacy

Seth A. Rohrer, one of Bethel College's founders, went to be with the Lord Sunday, November, 13. Rohrer is survived by his wife of 75 years, Emma, as well as two children, six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Rohrer was instrumental in founding many inspirational organizations including "Your Worship Hour" radio broadcast, Elkhart County Youth for Christ and Bethel College. In 1987 he was awarded a doctorate of humanities from Bethel College. Rohrer was a member of the United Missionary Church board of directors, which is now the Missionary Church. He was a member of the governing board of Hubbard Hill Estates in Elkhart from 1973-1990. Rohrer also served on the Bethel College board of directors from 1945-1990, and spent 30 years on the executive committee and as treasurer for the college.

The viewing will be held on Friday evening at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home in Elkhart, and the funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center Auditorium. Memorial contributions may be made to the Seth A. Rohrer Memorial Fund at Bethel College.
