Jazz and Percussion Ensembles to Present Free Concert

The Bethel College Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo and Percussion Ensemble will present their annual fall Jazz and Percussion Night on Friday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center Auditorium.

The concert is under the direction of Reginald Klopfenstein, D.Mus., professor of music and will include performances by the Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo and Percussion Ensemble. Featured jazz compositions include Gordon Goodwin’s “Hit the Ground Running,” the Count Basie tune “Switch in Time,” “Just a Closer Walk with Thee” and “America the Beautiful.” Percussion Ensemble highlights include the exciting classic “Lift-Off” and the poignant composition “Edge of the World.”

Soloists include pianist Courtney Schrock, saxophonist Steve Horton, drummer Jacob Grabill and vocalist Sarah Fish. The concert is free and open to the public.
