Bethel College’s annual campus-wide service day will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 3. Sponsored by United Federal Credit Union (UFCU), Bethel students, faculty, staff and credit union employees will serve together throughout Michiana. The day will start at 8 a.m. in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center, where individuals will divide into groups and leave campus to volunteer at various local organizations from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
“We are strong believers in giving back to our communities and so we are happy to be a part of this effort,” said Brandon Williamson, UFCU business development manager. “We applaud Bethel College for bringing people together for this day of community service and camaraderie.”
More than 800 participants will serve at approximately 40 different locations in the community, including Food Bank of Northern Indiana, Hannah and Friends, LOGAN Center, Pet Refuge, Center for the Homeless, Unity Gardens, and more. Service at each location generally varies from physical labor such as yard work, construction, and painting to personal interaction with the elderly and children.
All classes before 6 p.m. are cancelled for the day so students, faculty and staff may participate. This is the 29th annual service day for the college.
