As part of the Bethel College Day of Giving, Bethel will host a Give Back Gala May 12 in the Wiekamp Athletic Center on campus. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the event begins as 6 p.m. Keynote speaker Lee Strobel, New York Times best-selling author of “The Case for Christ,” will share the message “For Such a Time as This: Standing Up for Biblical Values.” The purpose of the event, which includes dinner, is to raise money for Bethel’s General Scholarship Fund, which supports student scholarships and areas of greatest need. Tickets to the gala are available now for $75/person (with $50 of each ticket counting as a tax-deductible gift to Bethel College). The public is encouraged to come, and registrations will be accepted through May 1 at BethelCollege.edu/GiveBackGala.
Photo opportunities with Lee Strobel are available for media by request.
“This is an exciting event that will bring the community together in support of Christian higher education, and will really make a difference in the lives of our students,” says Rich Cummins, CFRE, vice president for institutional advancement.
Two students will also speak at the event, including Rebekah Miller, a senior who chose to come to Bethel over a full-ride scholarship to Yale University, and Keenen Boyce, a freshman and the first recipient of the Bethel College Rising Entrepreneur Scholarship – a partnership with the Startup Moxie (formerly St. Joe CEO) program.
