Walorski to Host Jobs Fair at Bethel College

Congresswoman Jackie Walorski will host a jobs fair at Bethel College on Wednesday, April 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair will be held in the Wiekamp Athletic Center and will offer 1,000 jobs from more than 50 employers.

Governor Invites Chenoweth to Bill Signing

Bethel College President Gregg Chenoweth, Ph.D., was invited by Indiana Governor Mike Pence to attend the March 26 signing of Senate Bill 101, the religious freedom restoration act. Earlier in the month, Chenoweth testified to the Indiana Senate Judiciary Committee regarding the legislation.

Bethel Hosts McDonald’s® Michiana High School All-Star Basketball Games

The fourth annual McDonald's® Michiana High School All-Star Basketball Games will be held Monday, March 30, at Bethel College in Mishawaka, Ind. McDonald's Restaurants of Northern Indiana and Bethel College Athletics are teaming up again this year to bring this family event showcasing local high school talent in the northern Indiana and southwest Michigan area.

Students Prepare for Spring Phonathon

On March 24, more than 30 students will reach out to Bethel alumni as part of the college’s spring Phonathon, which runs through April 18.

Special Education Degrees Now Offered at Bethel College

Bethel College is expanding its education degree offerings with a new minor and a new graduate degree in special education. The minor is available now to undergraduate students and the master’s degree could begin as soon as this summer.

Honoring the Legacy of Father Hesburgh

The Bethel community joins the University of Notre Dame in mourning the loss of the Rev. Theodore Hesburgh, C.S.C. “It’s remarkable to think that the legacy of Father Hesburgh was nurtured and lived out just down the road from Bethel,” says President Gregg Chenoweth, Ph.D. “The contributions he made to our community, our country and our world are astounding and our campus has surely benefited from his influence.”

Bethel Community Participates in Collegiate Day of Prayer

On Thursday, Feb. 26, Bethel students, faculty and staff will join more than 3,000 colleges across the nation in participating in the annual Collegiate Day of Prayer. This year marks the 200th anniversary of the year that the American church agreed to hold special prayer meetings on behalf of our colleges and universities.

Schauss Named Capital One Academic All-America® of the Year

Senior guard Matt Schauss was named 2014-15 Capital One Academic All-America® of the Year for the College Men's Basketball Division. Teammate Zach Miller was also honored, becoming the only member of the 2014-15 Capital One College Division Academic All-America® Men's Basketball Team to earn multiple All-American nods.

Pilots Sweep the Track and Field Indoor National Championships

On Feb. 21 the men's and women's track and field teams claimed both team titles at the 2015 NCCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. National honors were also captured in eight individual events and a total of 20 all-American honors were collected by individuals and relay teams. Congratulations Pilots!

Spanish Chef José Miguel Ouro Exposito is visiting Bethel College and cooking for students, faculty and staff. His visit is part of the 2015 Global Chef Program sponsored by Bethel’s food service provider, Sodexo.
