South Bend New Tech High School
Dates: as soon as possible until June

Description: We need science students or faculty to assist High School Biology students as mentors for independent science projects. These are higher level students seeking Honors credit. Mentors would need to meet 2-3 times with the student group and simply assist them with their experiment and lab report, answering any questions along the way. Past mentors have had a positive experience and the students are very grateful for the assistance.

Description: Description: AseraCare Hospice : Volunteers Needed to provide assistance to terminally ill patients and their families. Our services are provided to cancer patients as well as people with emphysema, heart problems, Alzheimer's and more. We help our neighbors in our community in their own homes, assisted living facilities and nursing homes. Volunteers provide emotional and spiritual support, assist with errands, play music, write cards, read to patients and even office work. Harbor Light Hospice
Work type: Elderly Care, Family Services, Healthcare
Description: Harbor Light Hospice is in need of companion volunteers to spend one-on-one time with patients with a terminal illness in St. Joseph and Elkhart Counties. This is very flexible and can be done weekly, or bi-weekly depending on your schedule. Volunteer training is provided.

Description: We are in need of Tutors: Quaifications include but are not limited to: 1. Tutors must be at least 18 years old and have a High School diploma. 2. Tutors must be willing to commit to working with an adult learner 1 1/2 hours a week for 6 months. Tutors must be dependable, prompt, interested in helping others and have patience.Tutors must be sensitive to different backgrounds and cultures and respectful of student confidentiality. Also tutor should be able to read, write and speak English comfortably. If your interested in helping with adult literacy please contact us.

Description: Serving the community homeless by providing them with breakfast, showers, laundry, sorting donations, visiting with the homeless, etc.
